Republicans Capture Lead in North Carolina Early Voting Tally
North Carolina voters have surged to the polls, setting a new record for early voting on the first day of the period that began on Oct. 17.
Republicans have outpaced Democrats in cumulative early voting in the Tar Heel State so far, with over two million ballots already cast in the state, as Breitbart reports.
The enthusiasm was palpable from the onset, as 353,166 ballots were filed on the first day of voting, surpassing the previous record of 348,559 set in 2020.
The momentum continued to build, with voter participation swelling to more than one million just within the initial few days.
Early Voting Surpasses 2 Million Ballots
With early voting in North Carolina set to conclude on Saturday, Nov. 2, the total number of ballots already submitted has climbed to well above the two-million mark.
Among these, the Republican turnout is especially noteworthy, amounting to 789,046 ballots cast, which slightly edges out the Democrats' count of 772,921.
In addition to the clear Republican and Democrat participation, there has been significant voting activity from those classified as "others," with 735,117 ballots recorded.

These voting dynamics unfold against the backdrop of recent poll numbers. According to the latest aggregation from RealClearPolitics, former President Donald Trump maintains a narrow edge over his Democratic counterparts in North Carolina, leading by 0.8%.

He recounted his visits to various areas, including those severely affected by a recent hurricane, expressing optimism about the grassroots movements he witnessed.
Trump Jr. Notes Voter Mobilization
During his visits, Trump Jr. noted the resilient spirit among residents. Despite facing significant devastation, he pointed out that many affected individuals remained determined to vote.
Sharing his observations, he commented, “This week, I was in Michigan, I was in Arizona, I was in North Carolina twice, both visiting the damage as well as doing get-out-the-vote stuff. All of that stuff looked really positive.”
He recounted an instance in Yancy County, noting, “I was visiting some of the places that the hurricane destroyed. And, you know, I didn’t even want to ask them what they’re doing about voting.”
Despite the challenges, he observed that the people there were casting votes in record numbers.
Persistent Voter Engagement Despite Challenges
Trump Jr. further emphasized the depth of engagement among voters who have faced personal losses from recent events.
"They lost loved ones. They lost homes," he stated, illustrating the deep-seated motivations driving these individuals to participate actively in the voting process.
Highlighting the adversity faced by residents, he added, “They would crawl through broken glass right now to vote because they understand their government is failing … so people are getting it. We just can’t take anything for granted.”
