Following his recent withdrawal from his presidential campaign, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has lost his Secret Service protection.

Kennedy Jr.'s Secret Service protection was removed after he endorsed Donald Trump and effectively withdrew from the presidential race, as Fox News reports.

The decision to end Kennedy's security detail was confirmed by his press secretary in a statement to CBS News. Initially, Kennedy did not receive Secret Service protection but was later granted security following an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump in July.

President Biden Orders Protection Following July Incident

After the attempt on Trump's life, President Joe Biden directed the implementation of Secret Service protection for Kennedy. This move was aimed at ensuring his safety amidst heightened political tensions.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who announced the belated protection measures, stated, "In light of this weekend's events, the president has directed me to work with the Secret Service to protect Robert Kennedy, Jr. Both prior to and after the events of this past weekend."

Kennedy Exits Race and Embraces Trump's Leadership

By Friday, Kennedy had effectively exited the presidential race, shifting his support to Donald Trump.

During his announcement, he expressed his vision of a "unity government" with Trump.

He indicated his hope that it would focus on major issues such as the war in Ukraine, censorship, and children's health in the U.S.

This endorsement was followed by a significant shift of Kennedy's supporters towards Trump, according to Trump’s campaign pollsters.

They noted Kennedy's previous 5% to 6% poll numbers in critical swing states like Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Kennedy Forecasts Future Plans on Social Media

On the social media platform X, Kennedy hinted at upcoming announcements related to his involvement in Trump's proposed "Unity Government."

He teased, "This is only the beginning."

"Wait till you see the next additions to President Trump’s Unity Government," he went on.

Kennedy's move to support Trump marks a significant turn in his political journey, reflecting his readiness to align with former adversaries to forge common paths forward.

Fox News Appearance Sheds Light on Endorsement

Further discussing his controversial decision, Kennedy appeared on Fox News Sunday with host Shannon Bream.

He defended his endorsement of Trump and stressed the importance of bipartisan cooperation.

Kennedy further emphasized his belief that Americans can hold different views yet still work together effectively.

During the interview, Kennedy highlighted the collaborative potential he saw with Trump, indicating a possible new direction in his political career and ongoing influence in American politics despite his withdrawal from the race.
