Ana Navarro Urges Biden to Grant Pardon to Son Hunter

 November 12, 2024

In a bold statement on ABC's The View, co-host Ana Navarro advocated for President Joe Biden to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, highlighting the polarized political environment and previous controversial pardons.

On the show's Monday episode, Navarro addressed the topic of presidential pardons, specifically concerning Hunter Biden, and she emphasized the minimal political risk for Joe Biden associated with such a decision at this point, suggesting that the outgoing president should consider pardoning his son, as Breitbart reports.

Navarro referenced the election outcome in which Donald Trump, known for pardoning controversial figures, was chosen by voters in resounding fashion.

This comparison was drawn to underline the precedence and context within which Joe Biden could pardon his own son, Hunter.

Ana Navarro Critiques Political Landscape

Discussing further, Navarro mentioned that other individuals involved in high-profile controversies, such as those related to the Jan. 6, 2021, unrest, might also receive pardons.

This set the stage for discussing the fairness and implications of pardoning Hunter Biden, someone she claimed was unfairly targeted due to his family name.

"Look, we will never know if the result would have been different had Biden stepped off earlier. We will never know if the results would have been different if he had stayed in," she said.

Navarro went on, "We will never know if the results had been different if there had been an open primary."

"What we do know is that Biden is in there for the next two and a half months. And this is what I’m going to tell Joe — Joe, since they’re talking smack about you anyways, you know what? Maybe pardon Hunter. Pardon Hunter because we, basically America, just pardoned a criminal who was convicted of felonies," she added.

The discussion took a personal turn as Navarro addressed President Biden directly through her remarks, urging him to consider the pardon as a protective measure for his son against a politically charged prosecution landscape.

Navarro Highlights Injustice in Political Prosecutions

"America just elected a man who pardoned Jared Kushner’s father, who set up his brother-in-law with a hooker and then sent the pictures to the sister because they were in the midst of a fight over the parents’ money," Navarro continued, illustrating the controversial nature of past pardons to bolster her argument.

She added, "He’s probably going to pardon some of the folks from January 6th, those insurrectionists. So, you know what? It’s your son. He probably wouldn’t have been prosecuted if his last name wasn’t Biden. Baby, you got two and a half months. I’m good with you pardoning Hunter," highlighting the personal stakes involved and the perceived inequity faced by Hunter Biden.

Navarro's remarks have ignited a debate on the ethics and implications of presidential pardons, particularly in cases where family members are involved.

This discussion comes at a time when the political climate is increasingly scrutinized for decisions that may seem to benefit personal relations over public interest.

The View Sparks National Conversation on Pardons

The episode of The View in which Navarro made these comments has since become a focal point in discussions about presidential powers, the role of family in political decisions, and the overall fairness of the justice system in politically sensitive cases.

As Navarro's comments circulate through media outlets and social platforms, they contribute to a broader conversation about the limits and responsibilities of presidential pardoning powers, especially as President Biden's term approaches its conclusion.

Whether President Biden will heed Navarro's advice remains uncertain, but the discussion sheds light on the complex interplay between politics, personal relationships, and public perception in the twilight of his presidency.
