Fetterman Warns Democrats About Musk's Influence in Pennsylvania Election

 October 20, 2024

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is sounding an alarm for Democrats as he stresses the potential influence Elon Musk could wield by endorsing former President Trump in the key battleground state for the upcoming election.

With significant Electoral College votes up for grabs, both Trump and Vice President Harris are campaigning vigorously in Pennsylvania, as Fetterman highlights the weight of Musk's involvement, Fox News reported.

With Pennsylvania holding 19 Electoral College votes, the upcoming November 5 election becomes a critical focus for both major political parties. The state is classified as a toss-up, according to Fox News' Power Rankings. This intensifies the contest between Trump and Harris, each vying energetically to secure votes in this pivotal state.

Elon Musk Joins Trump On Stage In Pennsylvania

Elon Musk, known for his business successes, has stepped into the political arena by expressing his support for Trump. Earlier this month, Musk stood beside Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, declaring the upcoming election as the "most important election of our lifetime."

Musk's active participation doesn't stop at rallies. He announced on the social media platform X his plans to speak at town hall events across Pennsylvania during the weekend. Adding further muscle to his support, Musk contributed $75 million to a pro-Trump super PAC focused on boosting voter turnout.

Fetterman's Strategy And Concerns About Musk

Senator Fetterman underscored the need for Democrats to take Musk's participation seriously. He remarked, "Musk is a concern," illustrating the potential impact of Musk's influence through his engagement and financial contributions.

In discussing Musk's involvement, Fetterman noted that some people might view Musk with admiration, akin to a modern "Tony Stark." He warned his party against making light of Musk’s activities, stating that doing so comes with risks and that they should remain vigilant.

Senator Fetterman Emphasizes Close Race

Fetterman projects the Pennsylvania race to be extremely competitive, sharing, "The election in Pennsylvania is going to be ridiculously close." Explaining further, he mentioned Trump's undeniable connection with segments of voters in the state, underscoring the unique dynamics at play.

While emphasizing the importance of Pennsylvania in the election, Fetterman reinforced its critical role in determining the president, saying, "Pennsylvania picks the president." He highlighted the state's potential to swing either way in influencing the overall electoral outcome.

Continued Support For President Biden Amid Pressure

Despite some Democrats urging President Biden to step away from the 2024 race after facing critique over a lackluster debate performance against Trump in June, Fetterman stands firm in support of Biden. He reminded critics, "Biden is the only person that's ever beaten Trump."

Addressing criticisms targeted at Biden's leadership, Fetterman characterized them as intense, describing this criticism as akin to a "total blowtorch." However, he continues to rally behind Biden, highlighting the importance of unity in overcoming electoral challenges.

Fetterman's alert serves as a crucial reminder of the high stakes in Pennsylvania's electoral contest. With Musk's support for Trump signifying a significant shift, Democrats now face the challenge of counteracting this influence in a bid for electoral success.
