CNN Airs Report on Scandal Allegations Plaguing NC Republican Gubernatorial Hopeful

 September 21, 2024

In a revealing report, CNN has linked Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, a North Carolina Republican gubernatorial candidate, to controversial alleged online activities.

CNN's investigation probes rumored links between MAGA-favorite Robinson to past racist and sexually explicit posts on a pornographic website, as Breitbart reports.

Last Thursday, journalists Andrew Kaczynski and Em Steck published a detailed account alleging that Mark Robinson operated a user profile under the pseudonym "minisoldr" on Nude Africa, a website known for adult content. The posts in question span from 2008 to 2012.

The user "minisoldr" engaged in interactions that included racist statements and sexual comments, which have stirred significant controversy given Robinson's current political stance.

Among the more shocking revelations were posts expressing enthusiasm for transgender pornography and recalling voyeuristic experiences.

Such admissions from the "minisoldr" account include explicit enjoyment of sexually charged content and invasive observations of women in private settings.

Controversial Posts Surfaces Amid Gubernatorial Campaign

Further investigative efforts revealed that the email linked to "minisoldr" was also used to register accounts on several other social media platforms under the same username, suggesting a broader digital footprint tied to Robinson. Such platforms include Disqus, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and BlackPlanet.

This connection draws a direct line from the user activities on Nude Africa to Robinson’s verified social media profiles, amplifying the scrutiny against him.

Just hours before the CNN report went public, Robinson took to X, formerly known as Twitter, in a preemptive denial of all allegations. He recorded a video message dismissively referring to the forthcoming report as “salacious tabloid trash.”

Lt. Gov. Robinson Denies Allegations

In his video statement, Robinson condemned the news media and his political opponent, Josh Stein, accusing them of collaborating to smear his campaign with false accusations.

"Guys, the news media is at it again. My opponent is at it again. You all have seen the half-truths and outright lies of Josh Stein in these ads over and over again. Now, a story, leaked by him to CNN, is appearing now," Robinson stated, vehemently denying the connections to the "minisoldr" account.

"Let me reassure you, the things that you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson. You know my words. You know my character, and you know that I have been completely transparent in this race and before," he added in his defense.

Public Reaction and Political Implications

The exposures could pose significant challenges to Robinson's gubernatorial aspirations, referring to his prior commitments to transparency and moral integrity which are now under question.

In political terms, this event tests the response of the electorate concerning leadership integrity, particularly within the Republican Party, which Robinson represents in a deeply divided political environment.

As the fallout continues, the public reaction ranged from staunch defense by Robinson’s supporters to severe criticism by opponents, illustrating the polarized nature of current political discourse.

Examining the Broader Impact on North Carolina Politics

As North Carolina prepares for an upcoming gubernatorial election, the ramifications of these allegations could extend beyond the immediate scandal, influencing broader political dynamics in the state.

The situation raises questions about the accountability of political figures and the extent to which personal conduct should impact public service capability assessments.

This series of events will likely remain in the spotlight as further details emerge and the public, as well as political analysts, continue to scrutinize Robinson's candidacy and character.
