FBI Searches $3.5M Home of Ex-Aide to Democrat NY Gov.

 July 26, 2024

The FBI recently conducted an extensive raid on the Long Island home of a former aide to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The residence, belonging to Linda Sun and her husband Chris Hu, was searched as part of a court-authorized law enforcement action earlier this week, as Fox News reports.

The home, a luxurious five-bedroom property valued at $3.5 million, is located in a gated community on the North Shore of Long Island.

Despite the significant police presence and the comprehensive search, no accusations have been made against Sun or her husband, and no arrests were carried out.

Details Of FBI Raid

An FBI spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital that the raid was indeed court-authorized but did not reveal why the household was targeted.

While specifics of the investigation remain undisclosed, it is standard practice for a federal judge to approve such a search warrant.

Paul Mauro, a lawyer and commentator, shed light on the matter, stating, “While there is no official accusation and wrongdoing, a judge had to approve this search warrant and searching somebody's house is very intrusive.” He added, “Obviously, there must be some indicia of wrongdoing for the judge to have approved it.”

The search warrant, obtained by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, authorizes the raid but they have not commented publicly on the investigation.

Sun’s Professional Background

Linda Sun has held several prominent positions within the New York State government.

She served as one of Hochul's deputy chiefs of staff, where she was responsible for initiatives related to business development, Asian American affairs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previously, she worked under former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Following a 15-month tenure in the executive chamber, Sun transitioned to a role with the New York State Department of Labor in 2022. However, her career in public service came to an end last year.

Sun was reportedly fired due to “evidence of misconduct,” a claim that was subsequently referred to law enforcement. The nature of this alleged misconduct has not been disclosed.

Financial and Personal Details

Further investigation into property records revealed that Sun and her husband transferred ownership of their home into a trust last March. This move, while legal, has raised questions amidst the ongoing investigation.

Chris Hu, Sun’s husband, is the proprietor of a liquor store in Queens. His store is noted for its premium offerings, including a bottle of wine priced at an eye-popping $700, positioned near the entrance.

Despite these financial maneuvers and high-profile lifestyle, the couple has not yet faced any charges or accusations from the raid.

Conclusion

In summary, the FBI’s raid on the Long Island home of Linda Sun and her husband Chris Hu highlights an ongoing investigation into unspecified matters.

Although the nature of the search remains unclear, it underscores the legal processes and implications involved in such federal actions.

With no charges or arrests made, the situation continues to develop as authorities delve deeper into their inquiries.
