Howard Stern goes after MSNBC for focus on potential Trump indictment

 March 25, 2023

Radio host Howard Stern blasted MSNBC for going "f---ing berserk" about former President Donald Trump's possible indictment and arrest.

Stern argued that the network, along with other outlets, have given Trump a ton of coverage despite uncertainty over whether the arrest will happen.

The remarks

"I was watching MSNBC, they were going f------ berserk with, you know, Trump potentially being arrested," Stern said during his show.

"And then they all come on the air and they’re all discussing whether or not Trump’s gonna be indicted. I go, ‘You know, why don’t you sit tight and wait and see, instead of, like, speculating?'" he added.

Stern later poked fun at the network's rumors as an attempt to fill up airtime.

"Well, listen, they gotta fill 24 hours a day. They got plenty to do," he joked.

Prediction fulfilled

Stern's words came as it was announced that the grand jury in Trump's Manhattan case would not meet Wednesday and no decision will be made this week.

"The grand jury meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays but was given Wednesday off, according to reports from Insider and the New York Times. A law enforcement source told Insider it is unlikely that the grand jury will meet at all this week," National Review reported.

"The grand jury may hear from at least one more witness before voting on a potential indictment, per the Times," it added.

Trump previously fired up Americans after claims that he would be arrested and that citizens should protest in response.

“THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“THEY’RE KILLING OUR NATION AS WE SIT BACK & WATCH. WE MUST SAVE AMERICA!PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST!!!” he later added.

Some have argued that arresting Trump could backfire, making his comeback White House campaign stronger in his attempt to oust President Joe Biden.

The decision is still pending but Stern has been brutal in his attacks on mainstream media for giving Trump so much coverage over the topic.
