Hunter Biden claims he was high or drunk when he texted $5.1M shakedown demand

 March 1, 2024

Hunter Biden, in a rare moment of revelation, said that he was not in a sober state when he demanded a $5.1 million payment from a foreign business associate, a revelation he says he now finds embarrassing.

This admission occurred in relation to a scenario in which as his father, Joe Biden, was reportedly by his side, an event which now casts a shadow over the first family amid allegations of leveraging political influence for personal gain.

According to House Oversight chair James Comer (KY-01), speaking on Newsmax's Rob Schmitt Tonight, this confession was made during Hunter Biden's closed-door deposition this week with House impeachment investigators.

Comer suggested that Biden was blatantly attempting to sidestep accusations of wrongdoing by citing his impaired state at the time of the incident.

The Allegations and Responses

The heart of the controversy revolves around Hunter Biden's dealings with CEFC China Energy, a company linked to the Chinese state.

That situation is central to claims by Republicans of the Biden family engaging in influence peddling.

Comer has articulated concerns that the Biden family, and more importantly, now-President Joe Biden, could be implicated in impeachable offenses due to these foreign business engagements.

This situation is framed as a misuse of authority or extortion, in which Hunter Biden's actions are seen as leveraging his father's political stature for financial benefit.

During a discussion with Newsmax's Eric Bolling The Balance, House Judiciary chair Jim Jordan (OH-04) emphasized the significant flow of funds into the Biden family through various foreign entities.

He suggested that the family engaged in an ongoing and deliberate strategy to capitalize on Joe Biden's political influence.

Despite these serious allegations, Hunter Biden has remained defiant, denouncing the inquiries as partisan attacks devoid of substantial evidence, particularly criticizing the focus on his personal struggles with addiction as a diversion from the lack of concrete proof against his father.

The Investigation Continues

The hearing, which lasted nearly seven hours, delved into Hunter Biden's business affiliations and personal challenges.

Despite the focus on his past substance abuse, his legal representative highlighted the disproportionate attention given to his addiction, arguing it overshadowed more relevant inquiry aspects.

Comer, however, viewed the deposition as a pivotal step forward, promising a forthcoming public hearing to expose the details to the American populace further.

The broader investigation by House Republicans into the Biden family's dealings during Joe Biden's vice presidency under Barack Obama continues to unfold, with allegations of improper financial gains from policy decisions.

The White House and Hunter Biden have consistently denied any wrongdoing, attributing the probe to political motivations.

Nonetheless, Comer assures that the pursuit of truth will persist, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in revealing the nature of the Biden family's international financial transactions and their implications for American interests.
