JD Vance slams NBC for overlooking Israeli reaction to Trump's peace efforts

 October 13, 2025

Vice President JD Vance just fired a sharp salvo at NBC News, exposing their lopsided coverage of a major event in Tel Aviv.

Vance slammed the network for glossing over the crowd’s hearty approval of President Donald Trump’s crucial role in forging a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, while eagerly spotlighting their disapproval of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as Fox News reports.

Let’s step back to last week when Trump and his administration unveiled a hard-won deal to halt the conflict and secure the release of hostages held by Hamas, a breakthrough in a region long mired in tension.

Trump’s diplomatic triumph takes center stage

By Saturday night, the focus shifted to Tel Aviv, where thousands gathered at a rally to champion the upcoming hostage release, slated for Monday.

Among the key figures present were U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner, underscoring the administration’s hands-on dedication to resolving this crisis.

As Witkoff addressed the crowd, reactions split dramatically -- boos echoed through the air when Netanyahu’s involvement in the talks was mentioned.

Crowd applauds Trump amid scorn for Netanyahu

Contrast that with the roar of cheers that erupted when Trump’s name came up, a clear sign the crowd attributed this diplomatic win to his leadership.

Witkoff tried to balance the narrative, stating, “OK, let me just finish my thought. I was in the trenches with the prime minister. Believe me, he was a very important part here” (Steve Witkoff).

Yet, let’s not kid ourselves -- Witkoff’s defense of Netanyahu barely moved the needle, while the crowd’s enthusiasm for Trump spoke volumes about where they placed their trust.

Vance exposes selective reporting

Fast forward to Sunday morning, when Vance took to NBC’s Meet the Press to call out the network for what looks like blatant editorial cherry-picking.

He didn’t hold back, saying, “But I also have to give your network a little bit of grief, Kristen, because last night I was watching NBC, they were covering this and they mentioned during a rally last night in Israel, when Steve Witkoff our special envoy mentioned Bibi Netanyahu the crowd booed, but the broadcast didn’t mention when Steve Witkoff mentioned President Trump –– the crowd actually cheered.”

That’s the kind of pointed question that cuts through the fog -- why would a major outlet skip over a crowd in Israel celebrating American diplomacy unless it clashes with their preferred storyline?

Hostage freedom draws near

Meanwhile, the real story remains the peace deal’s impact, with hostages expected to be freed within 72 hours, though the return of the remains of those who didn’t survive would, it was reported, take more time.

This agreement stands as a testament to Trump’s team’s relentless focus on results over rhetoric, proving that strong, strategic diplomacy can still shift the needle in a world often bogged down by endless debates and progressive talking points.

It’s disappointing, though not surprising, that some media giants seem more invested in crafting narratives than reporting the full picture -- perhaps Vance’s critique will nudge them toward remembering that balance isn’t optional, it’s essential to their credibility.
