Jill Biden, Kamala Harris hit campaign trail to get president's re-election bid back on track

 February 29, 2024

Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States, is spearheading an outreach effort known as "Women for Biden-Harris," to encourage women nationwide to vote for her husband, President Joe Biden, in the upcoming presidential election.

This initiative seeks to galvanize female voters by organizing nationwide events leading up to the pivotal November election, as Fox News reported.

"Women put Joe in the White House four years ago, and women will do it again," Jill Biden announced.

Mobilizing Female Voters

The campaign strategically launches at the onset of Women's History Month.

As such, it is meant to symbolize a focused effort to engage and mobilize this key demographic.

The first lady emphasized women's instrumental role in the electoral process.

She highlighted female participants for their invaluable work as organizers, planners, and mobilizers.

She said, "We get things done. That's exactly why we're launching 'Women for Biden' now because when women organize, we win."

In 2020, women emerged as a crucial demographic victory for President Biden.

The group ultimately favored the Democratic ticket by a margin of 11%..

The "Biden-Harris Women's Coalition" aims to uphold the Democratic Party's appeal among women.

According to the campaign, this will be accomplished in part via events held across battleground states including Wisconsin and Arizona.

A Choice for Women's Rights and Freedoms

In a statement regarding the new program, Julie Chávez Rodriguez, Biden's campaign manager, underscored the significance of women in Biden's triumph in the 2020 election.

"Americans will face a real choice at the ballot box this November between Joe and Kamala who will stand up and fight for women and their freedoms each and every day, and Donald Trump who is looking to take our rights and freedoms away," Rodriguez also articulated.

She further criticized the opposition for allegedly underestimating the power of women, asserting a collective resolve to prove them wrong in the upcoming election.

Reproductive Freedoms Tour

The president's campaign touted "Women for Biden-Harris" as having been one of its largest coalitions leading up to the 2020 election.

In somewhat a parallel initiative, Harris is embarking on a distinct series of appearances known as the "Fight for Reproductive Freedoms" tour, with a focus on abortion policy.
