Miraculous Survival: Doctor Updates Public on Trump's Recovery from Shooting

 July 21, 2024

In a stunning incident that captured global attention, former President Donald Trump was shot in the right ear during an assassination attempt. This event occurred just a week ago.

Trump's former White House physician, Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX), has since been closely monitoring his condition and has reported what he believes is a miraculous escape from death, as WOWT reports.

The attack involved a high-powered rifle aimed at Trump, striking the upper portion of his right ear. The injury resulted in a 2-centimeter-wide wound, affecting the ear's cartilage.

Immediate Medical Response at Butler Hospital

Following the shooting, Trump was quickly taken to Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania. Here, he received urgent medical attention on the evening of the attack.

At the hospital, the medical staff performed a comprehensive evaluation to check for any additional injuries and provided immediate treatment for his gunshot wound. This included addressing significant bleeding and swelling in the affected area.

Jackson, who has been observing and treating Trump since the incident, noted that the former president was fortunate to have the bullet miss entering his brain by less than a quarter of an inch.

This close call underscores the gravity of the situation and Trump's narrow escape from a potentially fatal injury.

Ronny Jackson Speaks on Trump's Recovery

“The bullet track produced a 2-centimeter-wide wound that extended down to the cartilaginous surface of the ear. There was initially significant bleeding, followed by marked swelling of the entire upper ear,” Jackson described the extent of the injury.

He further added, “The swelling has since resolved, and Trump’s wound is healing properly, but there is still intermittent bleeding requiring bandages.”

Expressing his relief at the recovery progress, Jackson stated, "Trump is doing well, and he is recovering as expected from the gunshot wound. It is an absolute miracle he wasn’t killed."

Continued Care and Planned Public Appearance

Since the shooting, Dr. Jackson has evaluated and treated Trump's wound daily, ensuring a meticulous recovery process. His ongoing care underlines the seriousness of the injury and the careful monitoring required.

Jackson also expressed gratitude towards the staff at Butler Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care.

“They did an excellent job of evaluating him and treating his wound. I want to thank them for their outstanding care. They provided a thorough evaluation for additional injuries,” he acknowledged.

In a sign of returning to normalcy and resuming his public activities, Trump was scheduled to hold his first campaign rally since the incident.

This event took place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Trump appeared with his new running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

Reflecting on the ongoing care and the upcoming public engagement, Jackson confirmed, “I will be staying with Trump for his rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will be by his side throughout the weekend.”

This statement reassures supporters and the public alike that Trump is receiving all necessary care and is in stable condition to engage in upcoming political activities.

The resilience displayed by Trump in the wake of this attack, along with the diligent care provided by his medical team, highlights the critical nature of the situation and the importance of thorough and continuous medical supervision.
