Murdered dad was ‘unconscious’ as attackers beat him

 May 27, 2023

A Maryland dad was reportedly beaten to death by a group of bullies who threatened his 14-year-old son.

Christopher Wright, 43, was killed in front of his home in Baltimore, Maryland, as attackers beat him even after he was unconscious on the ground, according to the man's fiancee.

A Sickening Scene

"CCTV footage obtained exclusively by Dailymail.com captured the moment the father threw the first punch after he was confronted - before being body slammed to the ground as his 12-year-old son watched on helplessly. Remnants of Wright's blood still stained the ground outside their home," the Daily Mail reported.

"Wright was taken to a trauma center after the attack but was pronounced dead on Saturday after sustaining a traumatic brain injury," it added.

The Story Behind the Attack

Wright "was outside his home Friday when he was confronted by three teens and two adults who were looking for his fiancée’s 14-year-old son, who had gotten in a fight with another teen at Brooklyn Park Middle School earlier in the day," the New York Post reported.

"When Wright told the group that the boy was not going to come outside to fight, they told him, 'If he’s not going to fight, then you’re going to fight,' Wright’s fiancée, Tracy Karopchinsky," noted.

The motivation behind the original conflict was apparently a dispute at school over $30.

Started Over $30

“On Wednesday Trenton was walking near the school and a kid — not related to the [fatal] fight — came up to him and said ‘I stole $30 from your girlfriend’ or something along those lines,” Karopchinsky told The Post.

“He had the money in his hands. Trenton went to get the money and in reaction, hit the kid. He hit him once and that was the end of it.”

"Tracy Karopchinsky said the group attack was caught on a neighbor’s and the victim’s doorbell camera," according to a Law & Crime report.

“I was at Shock Trauma, and initially, my dad and I tried to go onto the camera to look, and the first video that comes up is my 12-year-old son screaming, ‘Daddy, daddy, daddy,’ and running out of the house into the street to go help his dad,” she told WBAL. “And I couldn’t watch anymore after that. I just couldn’t.”

No arrests have yet been made for the crime. Police continue to investigate the situation.

The tragic death of the father reveals another senseless loss at the hands of those conducting violence who have yet to be caught following their wrongdoing.
