Serious allegations against Marius Borg Høiby have plunged the Norwegian royal family into a severe crisis, affecting both their public and private lives.

Authorities initially arrested Marius Borg Høiby, the 27-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit from a previous relationship, on August 4. He assaulted his ex-girlfriend in their Oslo apartment while under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, and investigators discovered a knife embedded in the bedroom wall.
