Pentagon in Crisis as Trump Targets 'Woke' Military Leaders for Removal
The Pentagon faces significant upheaval as incoming President Donald Trump plans sweeping changes to military leadership, focusing on officers who have emphasized diversity initiatives.
Trump is reportedly set to overhaul military leadership by dismissing officers who prioritize diversity over readiness, causing something of a panic in the upper echelons, as Breitbart reports.
The Trump transition team has set its sights on senior military leaders accused of prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies over combat preparedness.
This major policy shift involves drafting an executive order to form a panel specifically to recommend these officers for removal.
The Scramble Begins: Generals React to Looming Changes
According to insider sources, there is a marked sense of panic within the Pentagon. Many generals are reportedly scrambling as they anticipate the changes that the Trump administration is expected to implement soon.
Reports indicate that in response to the transition team's focus, DEI-related content is rapidly being removed or archived from main Pentagon websites.
This action reflects an immediate shift away from these initiatives, underscoring the administration's commitment to altering the military's focus.
A source close to the situation shared, "DEI pages are starting to disappear off the main websites. They’re being archived as we speak. They are full-bore focused on cleaning up anything DEI-related."
Gathering Names: The Criteria for Dismissal
The executive order drafted by Trump's team calls for the creation of a panel to review and potentially recommend senior military officers for dismissal. This panel will focus on those who have actively promoted DEI policies within their ranks.
Lt. Col. Pete “Doc” Chambers and retired Chief Warrant Officer 2 Samuel Shoemate have been tasked with compiling a list of officers who could be affected.
More than a dozen names have already been collected from the Navy, and efforts are ongoing to gather similar data from the Air Force and Army.
Shoemate highlighted the aggressive approach being taken: "They want to lop off the head of the Marxist snake. And so that’s the primary criteria that I’m trying to focus on. We’re looking for those who have aggressively pursued DEI policies, and then potentially been the worst about retaliation against troops for the COVID mandate and stuff like that."
Reorienting Military Focus: A Return to Traditional Values
The executive order is part of a broader plan by Trump to shift the military's focus back to what he considers its core mission: preparing for and engaging in combat rather than focusing on social policy initiatives.
This shift represents a significant move away from policies implemented during the Obama administration, which Trump and his advisors have criticized as being overly focused on "woke ideology."
A source familiar with the plan remarked, "This is for real. This [EO] has made the cut." They added that the order aims to "restore the military leadership focus on keeping the country safe and when necessary, fighting the country’s wars…not these extraneous factors [such as] 'white rage' and gender identity."
The Top Brass: High-Profile Names on the Chopping Block
One of the most significant potential removals under this new order is Gen. Charles “CQ” Brown, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has been identified for his advocacy of DEI within the military, marking him as a primary target for dismissal.
Shoemate asserted confidently about the planned changes at the highest levels: "Trump’s taking out the chairman. That’s gonna happen." His statement reflects the sweeping nature of the intended purges within the military's leadership.
The proposed changes and the manner of their implementation have sent ripples through the military establishment, with many awaiting further details and clarification on the future of U.S. military policy under the Trump administration.
