Report: Queen Elizabeth said ‘evil’ Meghan Markle meeting Harry was ‘complete catastrophe’

 May 6, 2023

In a stunning report, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly described her grandson Prince Harry's meeting with his wife, Meghan Markle, as a "complete catastrophe" and called Meghan "evil."

The Queen reportedly made these uncharacteristic remarks at a reception in Balmoral in August, mere weeks before her passing.

Queen's Remarkable Outburst

A source close to the royals told the Spectator that the Queen made the shocking comments during a pre-dinner drinks conversation with a small group.

"At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch, and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as evil," the source claimed.

The Queen's use of the word "evil" was startling, given her reputation as "the most forgiving woman on Earth."

The source speculated that the outburst may have been due to the Queen's declining health and her regret over how things had unfolded with Harry and Meghan.

The Spectator suggested that this incident was evidence that the couple's relationship with the royals was likely irreparable even before the release of Harry's memoir Spare and the couple's Netflix docu-series.

Friction Within the Royal Family

Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's claims that they maintained a warm relationship with the Queen, other insiders have challenged this assertion.

Biographer Tom Bower shared that the Queen once said, "Thank goodness Meghan is not coming," in reference to her husband Prince Philip's funeral.

The tension between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family became more evident following the Queen's death. Harry had to rush to his grandmother's deathbed without Meghan, who was not welcome.

Despite their apparent estrangement from the rest of Harry's family, they still attended her funeral together, emphasizing their ongoing separation from the other royal family members.

Meghan, 41, did not attend the coronation of her father-in-law, King Charles III, choosing instead to celebrate her son Prince Archie's fourth birthday, which falls on the same day.

Harry, 38, attended his father's coronation ceremony on Saturday, sitting in the third row without a military uniform.

Meghan's Strained Family Relationships

Meghan's relationship with her own father, Thomas Markle, is even more strained.

The two have been completely estranged since Thomas did not attend Meghan's 2018 royal wedding, resulting in Prince Charles walking her down the aisle.

The Downfall of Meghan Markle

Meghan's popularity has dropped significantly over the years, with her approval rating reaching 33% in March.

Meghan and Harry's plans to speak "their truth" through various media channels, including Netflix documentaries, interviews, podcasts, and a book deal, have not gone as they hoped. Despite attending public events and attempting to revamp her image, Meghan still faces public scrutiny.
