Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has opted to continue her governorship rather than join President-elect Donald Trump's administration.

Sanders, who made history as the first female governor of Arkansas, confirmed on Tuesday she would not be part of the upcoming Trump administration, but instead plans to focus on her re-election campaign, aiming to govern her state for another term, as Fox News reports.

Sanders, the 31st White House press secretary, left her role in 2019 after serving for two years.

From White House Press Secretary to Arkansas Governor

After her stint at the White House, Sanders successfully ran for Arkansas governor in 2021, supported by Trump’s endorsement.
