Slipknot's Sid Wilson Injured in Farm Explosion, Hospitalized with Serious Burns

 August 25, 2024

Slipknot's Sid Wilson, 47, was hospitalized after suffering serious burns in a fire explosion on the farm he shares with girlfriend Kelly Osbourne.

The incident, which left Wilson with second-degree burns on his face and arms, occurred while he was working on a burn pile, and despite the severity of his injuries, Wilson has reassured fans -- and Ozzy Osbourne alike -- that he plans to join the band’s upcoming tour in September, as the Daily Maili reports.

Wilson is currently recovering in the hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for his wounds. He has shared updates from his hospital bed, including images and videos of his injuries, which show blisters and inflamed skin on his face and arms. The flames even singed off his mustache, adding to the extent of the damage.

The rocker took to social media to inform fans of his condition, stating, "Hi, everybody, I had an explosion in my face," and added, "I'm ok, I'm gonna be ok, but I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms." He later added humor to the situation by joking, "My lips got f***ed up pretty good. It's cheap Botox."

The incident has led to extensive treatment for Wilson, including an X-ray to ensure that he did not inhale any flames during the explosion. He described his injuries, stating, "I'm singed everywhere. Eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arms [are] pretty bad. Both of my arms." Despite these injuries, Wilson remains optimistic and determined to return to the stage.

Wilson Reflects on Previous Injuries

Wilson has also taken the time to caution his fans about the dangers of working with fire, emphasizing that safety should always be a priority.

He admitted, "Everyone out there, be really safe when you're messing with fire," and added, "I will say ... I do know better." His experience serves as a reminder of the risks involved in such activities, even for those who have dealt with them many times before.

The North American leg of Slipknot's "Here Comes the Pain" tour is set to continue starting September 1 at Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma. Wilson stated, "I'm gonna be alright and I don't care what it takes, I'm gonna see you on tour." This determination has been a source of encouragement for fans who are eager to see him back on stage.

Kelly Osbourne, Wilson's girlfriend, also commented on the incident, warning, "This is why you don't f*** with burn piles," and added that Wilson "literally set himself on fire [and] exploded everything." Her remarks highlight the severity of the situation and serve as a reminder of the dangers associated with burn piles.
