Arizona Voter Registrations Found to Contain Business Addresses

 October 16, 2024

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) has raised concerns about voter registration anomalies in Arizona.

The advocacy group discovered that many voters in the state have listed commercial addresses instead of residential ones, which violates the state’s voter registration regulations, and the PILF is demanding that Arizona's election authorities address these irregularities before the presidential election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump takes place, as Breitbart reports.

Hundreds of Arizona voters, according to PILF’s findings, have registered using addresses belonging to non-residential properties.

Some notable commercial establishments mentioned are an abortion clinic, a strip club, a high school, and even the Arizona Cardinals Training Facility.

Commercial Addresses Raise Concerns

The list doesn't stop there; other inappropriate addresses include locations such as gas stations, liquor stores, and golf courses.

Video evidence published by PILF purportedly showcases these unusual voter registration locations, emphasizing the need for corrective action.

Arizona's state regulations clearly articulate that voter registration forms must reflect a residential address, not a commercial one. Despite this, the issue of commercial addresses remains prevalent, prompting PILF’s call for immediate attention.

President of PILF, J. Christian Adams, strongly encourages election authorities to verify their voter lists. “Election officials should...take the voter roll, see how many people are registered at commercial businesses, and do something more than nothing,” Adams asserted.

Urgency Stressed Ahead of Election

Adams has pinpointed the urgency for Adrian Fontes, Arizona Secretary of State, to rectify these discrepancies before votes are cast in the next presidential election. He has characterized the situation as a widespread issue demanding resolution.

“This is a pervasive problem throughout the state...” Adams commented, expressing hope that action will occur without resorting to legal proceedings. His remarks underline PILF's determination to ensure electoral integrity in the state ahead of the election.

These challenges are not confined to Arizona alone. Similar problems have been detected by PILF in other states, notably Nevada, where proactive measures were taken after PILF initiated legal challenges.

Nevada's Response as a Case Study

In Nevada, PILF's intervention led to scrutiny and eventual removal of incorrect voter registrations by the Clark County Registrar. This decisive action showcases a response model Arizona could consider adopting.

Adams emphasizes the need for Arizona to act promptly to avoid similar litigation. “I hope something in Arizona is done before the election,” he stated, underscoring the critical nature of timely electoral roll corrections.

As Arizona election officials deliberate on steps to rectify these issues, it remains pivotal for them to evaluate the impact of these discrepancies on the voter roll integrity.

The examples from Nevada illustrate the potential for legal recourse should voluntary steps fall short.

In conclusion, PILF’s findings shed light on a significant electoral concern that needs addressing. The group’s advocacy for action underscores the importance of maintaining accurate voter records as the nation approaches another presidential election cycle.

Whether Arizona will take proactive measures similar to Nevada's remains to be seen, but the call for immediate attention is loud and clear.

As the urgency mounts, the state’s response will be watched closely by interested parties and voters alike.
