Renowned television actor Wayne Northrop has died at the age of 77.
Wayne Northrop passed away surrounded by his family after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease, the New York Post reported.
Northrop, born on April 12, 1947, in Sumner, Washington, embarked on his acting journey after earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. He further honed his craft in acting classes at Seattle Community College before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his career.
Wayne Northrop’s Illustrious Career in Television
Northrop’s acting career spanned several decades, featuring significant roles in popular television shows. He first gained widespread recognition portraying Detective Roman Brady on "Days of Our Lives" during two separate stints from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 1994. He also played Dr. Alex North on the same show between 2005 and 2006.
His other notable role was as Michael Culhane in the hit series "Dynasty," where he starred from 1981 to 1987, captivating audiences with his dynamic performances.
Northrop also appeared on the "General Hospital" spinoff "Port Charles" as Rex Stanton from 1997 to 1998, along with roles in other TV shows and movies including “L.A. Firefighters,” “Cold Case,” and several TV movies.

Lynn, Miss Virginia USA 1977 and the 4th runner-up in Miss USA 1977, has been a prominent actress herself, notably playing Lucy Coe on "General Hospital" and "Port Charles" since 1986.
The couple cherished their life together on a working cattle ranch in Raymond, California. They also owned the oldest house in Raymond, which they converted into a museum now listed on the registry of historical places.
Northrop’s passing occurred on a Friday at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home, where he had been residing due to his health challenges.
