Hunter Biden Ended Year-Long Relationship with Ex-Dancer by Email: Report
Hunter Biden concluded his troubled 11-month relationship with former dancer Zoë Kestan through email in 2019, a year filled with addiction and legal challenges.
The son of President Joe Biden first met Kestan in 2017 at the Vivid Cabaret strip club in Manhattan. Their encounter began with a private dance, marking the start of their relationship, which ended in an abrupt and arguably insulting manner, as the Herald Sun reports.
At the time, Hunter was 47 years old and struggling with severe addictions to alcohol and crack cocaine. This period in his life was fraught with challenges, both personal and legal.
The couple's relationship included stays at luxury hotels across New York and Los Angeles, aiming to help Hunter overcome his addictions.
Chateau Marmont Stays Highlight Biden's Struggles
However, their time at the Chateau Marmont, rather than aiding recovery, highlighted the severity of Hunter's addiction. It was here that his behavior showed the deep grip his addictions had on him.
Hunter frequently secluded himself in the bathroom to use crack cocaine and engage with cam girls online, as reported by Kestan.
This destructive pattern included Hunter involving Kestan in his addiction by having her withdraw money for drugs, a decision that distressed her family and friends.
Legal Troubles and a Shocking Email
The pair's last in-person meeting occurred on Nov. 18, 2018, after which the relationship ended abruptly via email in 2019. In this email, Hunter disclosed that he had married another woman and was starting anew.
"Hi, Zoe. I got married to the love of my life, and I’m happier than I have ever been. I have begun a new life with my beautiful wife (Melissa Cohen Biden) and ask you to please honor my privacy. Wish you well," read Hunter's email.
While the relationship ended, the consequences of their time together continued to unfold as intimate images, videos, and texts later leaked from Hunter's laptop in October 2020.
Impact of Past Relationships on Current Life
The revelations came at a tumultuous time as Hunter faced serious legal challenges.
He was found guilty of multiple charges, including illegal handgun purchases and tax evasion, leading to potential long-term imprisonment.
However, in a turn of events, he received a presidential pardon from his father, President Joe Biden, absolving him of sentences that could have extended to over a decade in prison.
Kestan's testimony during the federal court case against Hunter in June 2024 painted a vivid picture of the lifestyle they shared.
Kestan Reflects on Troubled Relationship
Reflecting on their time together, Kestan recounted Hunter's frequent drug use and the disturbing nights spent with him. "Taking pulls from a glass pipe every 20 minutes," she described his drug habits.
"He would set up a laptop and a crack pipe on a chair and stay up all night making phone calls," she added, illustrating the extent of his addiction during their relationship.
Despite the harsh memories, Kestan has chosen to move forward, expressing no regrets about her actions but emphasizing the limited scope of that period in her life.
"It was only a year of my life, but it doesn’t feel like something that should have defined me for so long," she stated.
