Biden gets confused, mixes his words in Wisconsin speech

 August 16, 2023

During a recent visit to Wisconsin, President Biden had some difficulty with his speech while discussing his administration's economic agenda.

Biden seemed to stumble over his words as he shed light on the economic benefits of "Bidenomics" and the ongoing initiatives of his administration, as reported by Fox News.

Focus on manufacturing jobs

The resident, addressing a gathering at a Wisconsin factory, concentrated on the importance of manufacturing jobs. Nearly 20 minutes into his address, Biden discussed jobs taking root in the U.S. rather than being outsourced.

He mentioned:

And they’re being built right here in Wisconsin and in places where factories have been shut down.

Investment in Wind Energy

Further in his address, Biden highlighted the advancements in renewable energy, especially in the wind sector.

Since his tenure began, there has been a noteworthy $3 billion private sector investment in wind energy manufacturing within the country.

The president stated:

And that’s not all. So, this year, this company didn’t think it made sense to make chargers for electric vehicles in the United States.

Advancements in electric vehicle infrastructure

He continued his discussion on electric vehicles (EV), emphasizing how his administration is striving for a future with comprehensive EV infrastructure.

When referencing a bill, he seemed to fumble, possibly hinting at the "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act" signed in November 2021.

Highlighting the opposition, Biden noted:

But then when I signed the [unintelligible word], again, which [Republican Senator] Ron Johnson and his friends didn’t vote for, they all voted against, that law invests $7.5 billion to build a network of thousands of electric vehicle chargers stretching across the country, including on I-94.

Understanding the infrastructure investment

This Infrastructure Act, worth $1.2 trillion, was previously hailed by Biden as a "once-in-a-generation investment in our people."

The underlying promise was the creation of millions of jobs, tackling the climate crisis proactively, and setting the U.S. on a competitive path for the 21st century.

He had expressed:

It would create millions of jobs, turn the climate crisis into an opportunity, and put the U.S. on a path to win the economic competition for the 21st century.

The Act's prospects

Biden had always emphasized that the act would give birth to good-paying jobs that cannot be outsourced.

Additionally, a significant part of these opportunities would revolutionize the transportation system, with the act making substantial investments in the same.

Democrats believe that Biden’s prime focus remains on strengthening the country’s infrastructure and economy, even if his delivery is occasionally less than polished.

However, critics believe that his habit of making verbal gaffes over and over again makes him mentally unfit for running the country.
